Study on Fire Extinguishing and Anti-Reburning Technology of Lithium-Ion Battery Energy Storage System

Abstract: The lithium-ion battery energy storage system (ESS) has the risk of thermal runaway, fire and explosion. In this paper, aiming at the problem that lithium battery ESS is difficult to extinguish and easy to reburn, the rapid fire-extinguishing based-fluorine and passivation and anti-reburning methods are proposed. The large-scale fire extinguishing test is carried out. The results showed that the initial fire can be quickly extinguished, and the reburning doesn't occur. This research can provide a guidance for the application of fire extinguishing technology in the lithium battery ESS and future key research directions.
